This ceremony held on 20 February 2019 marked the introduction of the new Executive Committee of the Undergraduate Law Society “Valorem”, the official student representative body for law students at CUHK. Derived from the Latin word valor, “Valorem” means value. It embodies the new Executive Committee’s creed to value the opinions and interests of the members, and its endeavour to strengthen the unity between members of the Society, the Faculty, and the legal field.
The ceremony was addressed by CUHK Law Dean Professor Christopher Gane; President of the Law Society of Hong Kong Ms. Melissa Pang MH, JP; CUHK Law Visiting Professor Mr. Ian Grenville Cross SBS, QC, SC; as well as Ms. Benita Yu, Partner at Slaughter and May. CUHK Law will continue to support the Society and congratulations to the new Executive Committee!
