The 13th Recreation and Sports Night
Event date:
20 October 2018

On 20 October, some of the most active members gathered once again with our honorable guests, friends and family for the 13th Recreation and Sports Night (Sports Night), the long awaited annual event organised by the Recreation and Sports Committee.

In the past few years, as the convenor of the Distance Running Team, I used to participate in a short play with the President, Vice-Presidents and other team captains and convenors to kick off the event. This year, I went on stage with a different role and it was my pleasure to be one of the emcees of this must-go event of the year.

Before the event was officially kicked off, the banquet hall was already filled with cowboys and girls, sheriffs and
Native American tribes specially dressed up for the theme “Wild West Wonder”.

Echoing with the theme, the night was constantly fueled with highlights of the Old West. We had seen some of the wildest and most wonderful dancing performances by our Dancing Team. The Law Society Live Band TLF together with Past Presidents Anthony Chow and Huen Wong also brought us brilliant live music performances.

The Best Dressed Competition was one of the key highlights of the evening. Mr. Fred Kan appeared in his most authentic and respectful tribal costume and took home the champion of the individual category with cheers and spotlights. He also led his "tribesmen" to the group champion title.

Another memorable moment was the beautiful dancing performance by our first female President Melissa Pang
with the Dancing Team.

It was fabulous to see our guests bringing home awards and smiles after going through series of exciting and challenging games while displaying amazing sportsmanship and determination. With the great effort of the organising committee led by Mr. George Cheung, Captain of the Tenpin Bowling Team, participants enjoyed another Sports Night filled with passion, energy and wonders. We do look forward to greater fun with you next year!
