CUHK to Host: 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome – EU and Global Perspectives

The Faculty of Law of the Chinese University of Hong Kong is hosting a conference on “The 60th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome – EU and Global Perspectives” on 26 and 27 May 2017 at the Graduate Law Centre to mark the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the principal founding treaty of the modern European Union.  The keynote speech at the Conference will be given by Judge Ian Forrester QC, Judge of the EU General Court and a leading authority on EU law.  Many distinguished scholars and lawyers will speak at the Conference, all of them experts in different fields of EU law including competition law, environmental law, trade law and the EU rules on free movement.

This important conference offers an opportunity to review the development of EU law during the last 60 years and consider the challenges which the EU faces at the present time.
