The Hong Kong Academy of Law

The Hong Kong Academy of Law organised 73 seminars in October, eight of which had an audience of over 100. These seminars are:

• “Seminar on Property Fraud” held on 9 October;

• “Hong Kong e-Legislation” held on 10 October;

• “Better Late than Never: How Companies in the Post-Cap 32 Era are Catching Up their BVI and Cayman Counterparts” held on 11 October;

• “Solicitors (Professional Indemnity) Rules and Claims Handling” held on 17 October;

• “Seminar on BVI Companies” held on 20 October;

• “The Solicitors’ Accounts Rules as amended by the Solicitors’ Accounts (Amendment) Rules 2012” held on 25 October;

• “Medical Negligence” held on 31 October; and

• “Directors’ Position in Troubled Companies” held on 31 October.

Mr. Raymond Ng, Partner of Harney Westwood & Riegels spoke at the seminar entitled “Better Late than Never: How Companies in the Post-Cap 32 Era are Catching Up their BVI and Cayman Counterparts” on 11 October.

Mr. Ludwig Ng, Solicitor Advocate, Partner of ONC Lawyers was the speaker of the seminar entitled “Directors’ Position in Troubled Companies” on 31 October.
