The Law Society and the Hong Kong Academy of Law organised a total of 33 seminars in the month of April, five of which had an audience of more than 100.
One of the five seminars was “Cybersecurity and International Law” held on 11 April at the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic
of China in HKSAR. The seminar discussed the role of international law in cybersecurity, the code of conduct
for information security and the development of digital space and cybersecurity in China. The speaker was Mr. Hu Bin, Counselor of the Department of Treaty and Law, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
Another of the five seminars was “International Arbitration under ICC Rules” on 27 April. The seminar introduced the role of the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) Secretariat, the ICC Court and the ICC Hong Kong National Group in appointment of arbitrators. The seminar also discussed the distinctive features of arbitration under the ICC Rules, the ICC Mediation Rules and the role of solicitors as counsel in ICC.
