Five sessions of free community legal talks were arranged on 14, 20 and 21 November 2020 with the objective to promote and educate the general public legal knowledge on various daily topics. In response to the government’s latest measures to minimize risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus, instead of holding physical talks as previous years, this year’s talks were switched online for the sake of health and safety of the public.
The five talks, which covered areas including employees’ compensation claims and personal injuries, family law, building management, criminal law and wills and probate, were attended by nearly 1,000 participants. 6 guest speakers volunteered to share their expertise and legal knowledge to benefit the public. During the talks, many questions were raised and discussed. The Law Society is pleased to receive positive feedbacks from the participants.
Law Week Organising Committee Chairlady Nadine Lai and Vice-Chairman Nathan Wong discussed daily legal issues with guest speakers.
