Since March this year, the Law Society had been offering a series of lectures for Peking University Law School students entitled “An Introduction to Legal Services and Risk Management for Cross-border Transactions”. The last two courses were successfully completed in June, where Mr. Henry Wai, Vice-Chairman of Greater China Legal Affairs Committee and Ms. Heidi Chui, Member of the Standing Committee on Standards and Development, jointly taught a course on mock arbitration, while Mr. Nick Chan, ex-Council member, gave a lecture on cross-border investment through case studies.
At the invitation of the Guangdong Lawyers Association, the Law Society regularly arranges training courses for trainee solicitors in Guangzhou. This year’s second round of training was held on 1 July. Mr. CM Chan, Vice-President of the Law Society and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, shared his insights on the Hong Kong’s legal system and the legal protection for Mainland enterprises’ overseas businesses. Attendees actively exchanged thoughts with intense interests during the course.
