Mainland Delegations Visited the Law Society

The Law Society received three delegations from the Mainland in April. On 1 April, Mr Liu Jun, Vice President of the Qingdao Lawyers Association, together with 16 representatives of the association, including members and secretary of the Criminal Professional Committee, members of the Services Group Committee and members of the Working Group Committee visited the Law Society. The delegation was received by Vice President C.M. Chan, as well as Vice-Chairman and members of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”). The meeting focused on member services provided by the Law Society, Hong Kong’s legal services and the city’s criminal procedure. On the same day, a 10-person delegation from Hainan Lawyers Association led by President Mr Zhang Xiaohui visited the Law Society to understand more about the Law Society and the legal services in Hong Kong.

The Law Society also received a delegation led by Ms Zhang Tong, Deputy Inspector of the Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau on 10 April to discuss matters regarding cross-border cooperation. Representatives from the Law Society included Mr Neville Cheng, Vice Chairman of the GCLAC, and committee members Mr Patrick Mak and Mr Tsui Kei Pang. Both parties have exchanged ideas on overseas cooperation.
