On 4 March, the Standing Committee on Member Services ("SCMS") and the Member Benefit Committee ("MBC") jointly organised the Members' Forum themed "Back to Normal or Forward to a New Normal", providing a platform for members to express the difficulties concerning their practice and career during the pandemic, and share ideas and feedback with the President and Council members on how the Law Society could provide support to them. The forum attracted a record-breaking of around 150 registrations.
During the online forum, President Melissa Pang and Mr Roden Tong, Council Member and SCMS Chairman, gave an overview of the various initiatives and measures the Law Society and SCMS have put in place over the past year to assist members in sailing through the challenges arising from the pandemic.
In response to submissions and questions from members in relation to the theme, the panellists also provided updates and insights on several topics including the use of technology, different practice models of law firms, and legal practice in the Greater Bay Area etc.
Heartfelt thanks to those who have supported the forum by attending the event and raising useful questions. If you have missed the event, you may visit the Members' Zone of the Law Society website for the video recording of the Members' Forum.
